I didn’t know anyone there or the language but found my way around the massive city, spending most of my time walking for several hours every day taking photographs. It was one of the first times in my life that I was truly alone. Not necessarily ‘lonely’ although, there were definitely times it was hard, but the feeling of existing as a singular being, untethered to anyone or anything. The following are a selection of images I took during that time.
