Please join us for a month-long workshop and event series rooted in the intersections of activism, education, self-exploration, ancestral medicine and healing arts, sexuality, magic and mysticism. Attendees will learn ways to cultivate empowerment, community, self-care, psychic protection, non-linear/non-patriarchal thinking among other tactics to help us get through these times.
Tickets & RSVP-ing: a pre-purchased ticket is required for all events unless the event is listed as free. To ensure all proceeds go directly to the teachers and organizers of this series, we are asking that all ticket purchases/donations be sent using our PayPal to email@example.com. 10.5 Full Moon Gathering (series opening event)– Our series opens on the Full Harvest Moon of October. We will be joined by shaman & multi-instrumentalist, Jorge Guillermo-Perez Molina with a blessing. Soup will be available, bringing food/drinks to share is also welcome.

10.7 Taoist Kung Fu for Self Autonomy w/ Yunuen Rhi — Baguazhang is an internal martial art from China that applies Ying Yang philosophy to a martial body movement practice. It harnesses wisdom from Taoist and Buddhist principles dating back to the founder of Shaolin Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism. Bagua is a powerful tool to combat emotional and body ailments because it teaches how to fight with your spirit. The first half of the session provides theoretical context and detailed instruction for five standing Taoist Yoga postures for balancing main organs and directions according to Chinese traditional medicine. The postures are a preparation for the second half of the workshop which teaches introductory Baguazhang Circle Walking, the highest form of combat for multiple opponents but most importantly a way to unite your body and mind with your spirit. Participants will be able to start cultivating the practice after the workshop and will be provided with follow up options. Learn how to walk firmly and gently on Mother Earth.

10.8: Roots and Resiliency: A Therapeutic Space For Womyn of Color. w/ Allegra Lucas, LMFT. This support group is focused on healing for Womyn of color in San Francisco. The intention is to hold space for experiences specific to being a Womyn of Color in America and in the Bay Area. What Does it Mean to be a Womyn of Color. Is it just about skin color? Is it culture? Is it food? Is it the way we move? What about our Herstory? Our Ancestry? Our Here and Now? And what will race mean for us in the future? Race can be used to divide but we can also use it to unify, to weave together our common experiences, to ignite connection in our community and to foster healing where bonds have been traditionally, intentionally and systemically broken. The group we will be using the tradition of storytelling, art, music and embodied process to encourage empowerment and leadership in womyn of color in our community. The group is also for us to laugh, rejoice, have fun and to celebrate the beauty and resilience that we cultivate in our lives.

10.12 Dismantling White Feminism through Shadow Work: a talking circle w/ the Feminine Antidote collective — This will be an experimental conversation–an opportunity to discuss white feminism and whiteness, through dialogue and shadow work, to excavate our ancestral/societal programming–to release any fears holding us back from being an active ally in our communities against the fight to end white supremacy.

10.14 Sabbath Queens: Adorning Your Crown w/ Zen Cohen — This workshop will explore the Crown as a physical, symbolic, totemic and conceptual object. The intention is for each participant to construct their own wearable crown that symbolizes aspects from their ancestral lineage, personal narrative/rites of passage and/or a talismanic object to use for activating higher states of consciousness. We will begin with a talking circle followed by guided visualization techniques, then time spent constructing our crowns. The workshop will end with a communal crowning ceremony and photo shoot. Each participant will go home with a crown of their own making plus a personal photograph. All participants are invited to bring items with them and additional art-making materials and guidance will be provided.

10.15 Self-Care for Sex Goddesses w/ Zen Cohen — talking circle, orgasmic breathing, womb health (literal/metaphorical), food ritual and more. This workshop is designed for folks of all genders and professions who are wanting to cultivate more meaningful practices for self-care, particularly in the realm of emotional and energetic pleasure. This workshop is ideal for professional sex workers-who give others pleasure for a living–who are in need to “re-fill their own cup.” Also ideal for anyone transitioning from a challenging relationship/life event. Please note: this is a sex positive workshop, not a sex party. Please come with openness and respect. Taking both Sat/Sun workshops is highly encouraged!

10.19 Moonlodge. w/Tatiana Almendral. Moonlodge is a place where women come together to celebrate being women. Moonlodge is a safe place to share and listen. Women naturally gather together and when we do we heal ourselves and each other by witnessing our commonalities through listening. Traditionally women who lived together in community menstruated in unison with the moons cycles. Since the advent of electricity and artificial light women have lost the bond of bleeding together…with the moon. Gather together with us on the new moon. For a unique circle, 20 women will be seated (first come first served). Each woman will receive a random card one reading share or listen. Those who receive a share card will have a participatory role and those with a listen card will have a witness role. There will be safe structure and support. Come open as you are with what you have you will be honored.

10.21 Practical Magic: Heal yourself —An Intro to herbalism w/ Tatiana Almendral. We will cover the qualities and nature of many different herbs. Focusing on our plant ancestors relationship with our bodies systems. Touching on planetary herbalism and tissue states. Plus medicine making. In class we will make medicinal tea and marshmallow potions. Yes, fluffy marshmallows full of herbs to add to your tea or hot beverage (skies the limit, heck even a S’more). Learn how to make a tincture for your harvest table and take home your own bitters formulation. Great for an updated old fashioned cocktail or as a digestive aid for all the rich autumn and winter meals to come. Plus take home recipes to make a healing salve, a nutritive oxymel.

10.21 Personal Alchemy: A look at time/space from the feminine perspective.—w/ Tatiana Almendral Harmonizing your personal alchemy. A deep disassembling of our popularly used calendar. How to approach the hurry up-busy city-lifestyle with realistic rituals of self care and still have time and energy to get the important things accomplished. A revolutionary look at expressing our childlike wonder, our big project adult, the company loving side of ourselves and the quiet contemplative loner. It is possible to have all of yourself fully expressed. Find out where you’re holding back and what you need to find balance in your time and space.

10.22 Glamour Magic Immersion. w/ Tatiana Almendral (DIY MakeUp intro class.) From skin care to lipstick, you’ll learn about how, what you put on your body effects your body and the environment. Plus you’ll make your own vivid environmentally conscious makeup products. Products made : Skin serum | lipstick | eyeliner | no need for soap, alternatives.

10.26 Media Tools for Artists, Activists and Healers. w/ Zen Cohen — in this Thursday night lab, students will learn practical media tools to enable their practice and projects to THRIVE. Students will learn some basic tools from photo/video editing tools to creating gif animations, “cellphoneography” and how to generate compelling content for social media. All participants are welcome to bring their own image/video files along with laptops. All demos will be projected and some additional computers will be available for hands-on learning.

10.28 Take Back Your Blood: DIY PERIOD CARE. w/ Janeen Singer of Holy Sponge! Disposable Menstrual Products are trashing the earth and our bodies. In this workshop, we will teach you how to make your own cloth pads by making them together. We will also talk about the industry surrounding menstrual products, the FDA and why it’s important to take agency of your own cycle and fluids. We will also incorporate supportive herbs, rituals, and practices.

10.28 Agua Florida y the Emotional Aires. Join queer prayer warrior, herbalista and medicine maker Batul True Heart of Maaso Medicina as she shares the ancestral tradition of making herbal flower waters for cleansing and healing. In this class you will learn the complex history of Agua de Florida, make a plant-based, synthetic-free version of it, and learn how to work with this powerful medicine ceremonially in your everyday life. You will also learn about the 13 emotional aires or winds of curandersimo and how to move stuck emotional energies like jealousy, anger, sadness, and egotism using water, flowers, plants and prayer. Each person will make Agua Florida together in class and everyone will take a jar home to let steep for one moon-cycle. Everyone will need to bring a cutting board and serrated knife por favor.

10.29 Baños, Showers, y Flowers; Healing with Traditional Herbal Medicine Baths. Join queer herbalista Batul True Heart of Maaso Medicina as she shares the ancestral tradition of making herbal medicine baths for physical and emotional healing. In this class you will learn which herbs and flowers are best for particular ailments, how to make herbal bathing teas, and how to cure stress and illness by working with the power of water, plants, and prayer. Make baños one of the most effective home remedios that you offer yourself and your family! We will make a big batch of herbal bathing tea together using some of Batul’s favorite flowers and healing herbs. Everyone will take a jar home to work with in their own bath or shower.

11.3 Full Moon Gathering/Samhain Ritual. (series closing) — Our series will close on the Full Beaver Moon. We will honor the season with a collective ritual to acknowledge our ancestors with a community altar, story-telling and feast. All attendants are welcome to bring share stories and feast on dishes from our family lineage. Seasonal costumes/adornment highly encouraged. We will also be joined by shaman/multi-instrumentalist, Jorge Guillermo-Perez Molina for a blessing. Soup will be available, bringing food/drinks to share is also welcome.

11.4 Empowering Mythological Archetypes: A Tarot Retreat. w/ Laura Zuspan. In this all day immersion, we will learn the meaning and symbolism of the entire 78 cards of the Tarot deck, providing a foundation for a beginning reader. We will cover how to use the tarot for meditation and manifestation, then introduce several tarot spreads. We will learn the basic structure of the Tarot, illuminating the differences between the major and minor arcana (secrets), learn how to develop intuition (grounding and channeling), and develop skills in ethical reading. Along with a lecture-based class we will convene as a salon, learning to read for each other with professional insights from the teacher.
